Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I carry out good manufacture practice (GMP) work on drug products. I support investigation/method development works. I perform a 3 mn student project in a different area. I join/lead team meetings. I am given time for university work and personal development.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given opportunities to perform independent analysis, carry out my project almost independently and I was also able to lead meetings.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I've developed ability to perform chemical analysis under a more stringent GMP requirement. I've learnt about new technics. I've also explored my other interest through an internal academy.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had bi-weekly catchups with my supervisor and my colleagues were very helpful and friendly. My manager was also very supportive and trusting. I have also got extensive guidance and training.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed it and it was very great in terms of how they support this placement opportunity. But I also found out that this is not my interest and will probably not continue in this industry. Therefore I also lost a little bit of motivation. But this does not mean that I don't appreciate this opportunity.
