Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As a Project Management intern, I work on a range of projects in different sectors, both in project delivery and bidding. Day-to-day, this means I'm often on calls with other project managers or those involved in delivery, as well as clients and other key stakeholders. I also am given time allocated to learning and developing my skills, as well as focus time on project delivery.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given plenty of training/ shadowing opportunities and my responsibilities came gradually, but overall I was given many large responsibilities, some in projects of varying sizes, as well as the opportunity to manage my own internal project.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I've developed a range of project management skills, including scheduling, communication, risk management, and stakeholder management. I've been able to hone in on these more specifically using templates and processes unique to Frazer-Nash, which I'm hoping to continue using going forwards.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had formal guidance in the form of inductions, training, and multiple check-ins from my team, however every single person I spoke to at Frazer-Nash was keen to provide me with support and advice, and always had time to help me through anything I struggled with.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is one of the best I've experienced. Everyone is passionate about their work and keen to support anyone struggling, no matter their position. I felt very comfortable speaking openly about any problems I had or anything I wanted to get involved in, and I always felt listened to and valued. In addition to this, the team are all lovely and very fun to be around.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and would like to work for Frazer-Nash in the future. Not only was the work interesting and helped me learn a lot, but the work culture is open I would like to be a part of as I very much enjoyed working there.
