Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Shadowing different divisions and Working on smaller tasks throughout each division to help develop useful tools and contribute to the larger projects - Gitlab pipelines, bash scripting, AWS + terraform, React JS web dev, Data Analytics, Digital Transformation. Also voluntary projects and opportunities.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Not at first but on request they were quite receptive and willing to give you how much ever work you are comfortable with.
