Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working in data analytics completing and interactive dashboard of risk events and issues occurring within the company. While also setting up and attending on 1 and group meetings with people in order to learn more about what they do.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Full responsibility to complete my own project to a deadline that me and my manager have discussed that feels challenging yet achievable. Also the responsibility to contact other people within the business to set up meetings with them in order to network and broaden my understanding of the business.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

SQL coding, Power BI, developed my existing skills in regards to excel, Power Automate, Working with larger databases, working and interacting (soft skills) in an office environment.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Several training programs to follow in order to get to grips with the new software. Once I had completed those I always had help if I encountered a problem if I asked for it.

I really enjoyed the internship. It provided me with a valuable insight into how abrdn work as a company and the industry as a whole. The culture was great and everyone was happy too meet with me and help me with any questions I had,
