Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role comprised of supporting my team in the creation of digital and physical materials that help educate healthcare professionals on the science and technology behind our dermatological brands. This could be anything from designing a poster about a product with its key ingredients and modes of action to creating a save the date email for one of our medical conferences. I also lead the samples and testers management for our field team.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Absolutely. Right from the start I was given responsibility of a project for myself, and this carried on throughout the internship, and helped me improve my confidence in presenting and taking responsibility of my work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

My general computer literacy has improved. I have developed a new approach to creative tasks, alongside gaining confidence in independently lead projects. This internship has really helped me build on my relationship skills and I have made many new connections and friends in the company. I have enhanced my analysis skills and have found a new interest in data analysis of medical studies.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My manager was great. She supported me through the beginning and helped me reach a place where I could rely on myself and my skills to lead a project by the end of the internship.
