Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day in day out I work with my team in office and the onsite team to ensure the collections of Service Charge & Rent are collected/chased, calculate the turnover rents for the retail spaces, read leases and update our software to reflect vacant and newly occupied spaces, format tenant invoices etc, client and tenant reporting (quarterly, budgets & reconciliation reports)
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes treated like any other employee working here, treatment did not differ and i was able to get stuck in fully to the role from the start. There was a limited amount of responsibility as i am at the start of my career however as I progressed throughout my year i was able to prove i was able to speak on behalf of surveyors directly to the clients/asset managers.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
A lot of support if you ask or even if you were too uncomfortable to ask friendly team. Had 2 weeks handover to ensure I was comfortable with the software and processes of the business. Once I got the hang of it the guidance is there if you need especially with RICS APC support from councillors and supervisors but I was not micromanaged.

Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Savills
Be yourself, sell your skills & prove yourself valuable. Half of the job is being a right fit for the team, being able to professionally build relationships with clients, tenant and colleagues around the different sectors of the business and the other half is your ability to get the job done.
