Intern (Actuarial Pensions) Review

First week: Induction, learning and training.
Second week: Getting to know the team, working on internship project and helping out with some small tasks for the team, e.g. working on Excel spreadsheets, drafting Powerpoint slides.
Third week: Same as second week + wrap-up of internship and close.

I think this time period was generally fairly quiet for the team, so it was not overly busy. I was not given much responsibility, therefore, but I was still able to sit in on relevant meetings and gain some client exposure.

I have improved my communication skills greatly, and it has been an opportunity to develop my network. I have also improved my technical skills, learning new tips and tricks on Excel.
I have been able to gain an insight into the actuarial role at PwC and the technical (and non-technical) requirements.

There was lots of support throughout - everyone was very happy to answer any questions and look out for some work that I could do. There were also plenty of catch-up meetings to check up on how I was doing, to make sure everything was going well.

Excellent - I felt that everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and I didn't feel like I was an annoyance even when I was asking lots of questions. There was a very supportive atmosphere which greatly enhanced the overall experience.

It was overall a very enjoyable experience as I was able to learn a lot of new things and meet lots of new people. However, at times there was little to do besides going over learning materials on the elearning site, even after asking around for work.
