Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Attending Garment Tech fit meetings – taking notes/pictures/ offering solutions and uploading into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Assisting with the development of samples from initial to gold seals including amending patterns, grading and checking of test reports and answering suppliers questions regarding samples.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I managed two departments with guidance during my time which allowed me to have a lot of independence and this grew not only my skills but my confidence in my abilities as well.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
After being rotated on different departments including, Ladieswear, Menswear, Childrenswear, Footwear & Homeware, I have learnt details I did not know before. This includes solutions to garments needing extra work to fit correctly and homeware to be altered to be more purposeful.
I have also been trained on Digi eye, Faux Fur, PPE, Accessories, Colour Fastness to rubbing (Crockmaster) and Kids clothing testing.

There has been a lot of internal changes so many people did feel stressed and unhappy, this was a shame to see.
