Involves a lot of analysis of marketing campaigns which is data heavy but also means talking to a lot of key stakeholders. Also learn how to manage the finances, marketing and operations behind a nationwide project.

Given a lot of responsibility with managing my own projects and being given the opportunity to ask for advice, steer me in the right direction.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
By my immediate team and manager there was a lot of support - everyone was really approachable. But there wasn't as much technical support as expected, I had to learn how to use Power BI by myself, no expert to ask for assistance.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was really helpful and there was lots of corporate events to get to know other people. At the beginning people from all over the business were more than willing to set up 1 to 1 meetings to learn about the various teams.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
During projects when there was a lot going on it was more fun but at time certain administrative jobs became quite repetitive. It took a lot to adapt from an academic setting to the workplace.

What advice would you give to others applying to Volkswagen Group UK
Try to come prepared with the hard skills, especially if in an analysis based role. Make sure you learn time management skills as there's a lot of different projects going on which can get quite a lot at times, especially in peak times of the year.
