Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

During our work experience week, we explored various disciplines within the company, rotating through teams such as Business Insights, Marketing, Talent Acquisition, and Legal. Daily activities included analyzing real business challenges, collaborating with team members, and presenting recommendations. The week culminated in a competition where we proposed solutions, with prizes awarded for the best analysis and recommendations. This experience provided a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Understanding all about the business and potential roles was enlightening and engaging. Rotating through various teams provided a comprehensive view of the company's operations and the interdependencies between different functions. It was fascinating to see how each team contributes to the overall success of the business. This exposure helped me identify potential career paths and clarified the skills and knowledge required for different roles within the company

Yes, I developed several skills during the work experience week. I enhanced my analytical skills by tackling real business challenges and improved my teamwork and communication abilities through collaboration with various teams. Additionally, I honed my presentation skills by presenting recommendations to the team. This experience also provided insights into different business functions, enriching my overall understanding and capabilities in a corporate environment.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture at G-Research was welcoming and collaborative. I was able to communicate with various professionals, who were very friendly and informative about their career paths. We were also fortunate to have pizza with university Interns on the last day.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight at G-Research. The experience was a perfect blend of educational and entertaining activities. Rotating through different teams provided a comprehensive understanding of the business, and the hands-on projects were both challenging and rewarding. The friendly and collaborative company culture made the experience even more enjoyable. Highlights included engaging in a mock negotiation, using data analytics tools, and socializing with university interns over pizza.
