Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We were supervised by lawyers and were assigned research tasks to work on. We also received presentations on various practice groups, engaged in socials and gained an overall insight into Latham’s practice
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a novel experience, by which I gained a real behind the scenes insight into the upper echelon of a large commercial law firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Holistically, I’ve certainly developed my people skills and ability to work in a team. My organisational skills have improved immensely too. Further, constantly being surrounded with highly intelligent lawyers naturally means my writing, research and legal skills have improved.

Latham is a firm that has a variety of USPs, so focusing on these will make your application stand out. Also it is good to understand the lack of hierarchy at Latham, and see how that fits in to your way of working.
