Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day-to-day, I was involved in a lot of technical training sessions which would then help to write client reports and complete the relevant paperwork. I also helped to carry out the changes to our clients portfolios each quarter, having contact with both the investment team and the team which were responsible for dealing within the client accounts.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement year. Although I was not client facing, I had the ability to write the reports and produce the placement which were then directly presented to the clients.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I developed considerable technical knowledge through getting the chance to write a variety of reports. Being involved in various projects also helped to build team working skills and communication as this was integral to ensuring the advice process ran smoothly.

I received a lot of support throughout my placement, through regular 1:1s and training from various sources, both internally and externally.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture continues to improve and has seen a large focus over the last few years. Everybody was willing to help and there was encouragement to approach anyone in the office, regardless of their job role.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year as I was able to develop both technical and personal skills which I now use in my career. I had lots of support and help from knowledgeable colleagues and I now work full-time at the company.

What advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars
My advice would be to really immerse yourself in the experience and get to know your colleagues as it will make communication easier. Also, I would advise to get involved and ask questions because that is the best way to learn.
