Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Attending senior lawyer speaker series. Involved in mock litigation exercise. Insight into traineeship, practice areas and sectors. Learning about firm's values, policies and strategic views. Also involved networking, social events and opportunities to speak directly with lawyers.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a highly enjoyable experience. There was so much information available from formal means but also through anecdote sharing and conversing. I left with a comprehensive understanding of the firm's sectoral operations, practice areas, strategic outlooks, identity and culture.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It was collaborative, innovative, forward-thinking and communicated a drive for excellence through agency over career development and resulting passion for work. There was clear demonstration of the firm's values and commitments in the firm's operations and policies.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I cannot overstate how valuable and enjoyable the programme was. I'd recommend it regardless of your background and especially if you come from a non-law background. The people were friendly and inspiring. Genuineness really shone through.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DLA Piper
I would recommend doing research on the firm. I would say that understanding the policy of "Law and.." and the sectoral-oriented organisation of the firm is critical to understand. Above all, I would encourage application.
