First Year Scheme Review

I networked with Trainees and Associates at various events and asked questions to gain an insight into daily life at the firm. I learned how a law firm operates. I had introduction talks for Banking and Corporate. I did Work Shadowing in the Banking, giving me a good idea of what the work entails. I learned tips on how to make a good application and how to prepare for making applications.

It was very informative and insightful, because I spoke to a range of people across the firm in different practice areas which gave me a very good idea of different departments. The talks were very useful in helping me understand the practice areas and I asked questions to develop my knowledge.

I developed my commercial awareness skills through the insight talks and networking, giving me a good insight into the firm. I also developed my networking skills as I had the opportunity to ask questions to professionals. I developed my interpersonal, soft skills by being in the office. I learned a lot about the practice areas and how people work on deals.

The company culture and general atmosphere was incredibly friendly, open and warm. I felt like a part of a team and I have built up my network.

I immensely enjoyed the experience. I enjoyed gaining an insight into all the practice areas, working and understanding how a global law firm operates.
