Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I did work shadowing, where I worked with an associate in the corporate department. I also sat in on informative presentations and interacted with associated, partners and trainees. We spoke about working at the firm and what is required of a lawyer at L&W.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was definitely eye-opening, because I understood nuances of the job that I wouldn’t have without this experience. I got an insight into the different roles and expectations of lawyers at the firm. I learned that there were a wide range of opportunities for corporate lawyers.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The atmosphere was extremely welcome and friendly. Everybody was helpful and engaging. All the lawyers took the time to answer the many questions that we had.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed it immensely. I learned a lot and was able to interact with lawyers in the departments that I am interested in. I also connected with other people on the scheme, which was amazing. This experience motivated me to work hard in order to come back to this firm as well.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Latham & Watkins
I would recommend being honest in your application, and also being clear and concise. I believe these are the two most important things when coming to writing applications. It is also necessary to align yourself with the competencies of the firm.
