Insight Attendee Review

The Insight Programme provided a mix of sessions and activities allowing students to learn more about DLA piper. This included the opportunity to network with other trainees, hear from senior leaders in the firm, learn about its opportunities and practices, meet current trainee lawyers, and take part in group exercises.

The Insight Programme provided an extremely in depth overview of the culture, history and operations of the firm, as well as its current practices and recruitment process. This was extremely useful in helping understand core initiatives and principles at DLA Piper, including the focus on a 'One UK' approach, and the importance of DEI initiatives to its future business.

Foremost of the skills I have developed has been my ability to network with a large group of unfamiliar people, with the Programme providing a welcoming environment and social activity to get to know fellow trainee lawyers.
I have also been able to practice teamwork and listening stills, so I am able to discern the most important parts of the various presentations we were given.

The Insight Programme served to confirm my understanding earlier perception that DLA Piper is a friendly and welcoming place to work, that values employee wellbeing and strives to be open and exclusive. There was excellent involvement by Partners who were happy to answer any questions, and all staff present seemed happy to be there.

I very much enjoyed the Insight Programme and would recommend to any other law students interested in a commercial training contract. Travel was arranged efficiently, the hotel I stayed in was comfortable, and the various sessions were in depth and informative. The benefit of priority application to the summer internship is very welcome too.
