Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
This was a 2-day insight scheme.
Both days involved icebreakers to get to know better the other students on the scheme. We had speakers ranging from partners, legal directors and those from the corporate responsibility side of the firm including pro-bono. We also had a round table session where we got to learn about each of the practice areas DLA Piper works on and we had a mock litigation too. We networked with trainees too.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was great to hear from associates or legal directors in different practice areas- it gave us a real insight and deep dive into these areas and what working in there would entail.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was super friendly, I could really feel like people genuinely liked being at the firm. We were able to talk to people from all other regional offices too and everyone had great things to say about the culture regardless of which office they were in.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed it- especially the evening of the first day where we had a nice social event with all the other students- I made new friends from this scheme. I learned a whole lot about DLA Piper as well!
