Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My day to day involves finding and analyzing accounting data - to give more detail this could involve.
- Analyzing Labour Figures
- Working on VAT reports
- Running Bank Reconciliations
This is just a simplified version of what I could do on a given day - however my work revolves around the Accounting calendar and my tasks may change depending on the time of month / year.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I have been given a large amount of responsibility:
It is vital that my tasks are completed on time and to the right standard - ensuring that fine details are considered. As these will all contribute to the relevant month / year end.
The intern is mostly responsible for areas such as the Banks, and it is my role to ensure that everything is recorded accurately.
You are treated as another member of the team and as such this comes with similar levels of responsibility.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
My knowledge and usage of Microsoft Excel has greatly improved - it was almost zero before I started and now I am beginning to learn how to use Power Query!.
Softer skills such as communication and teamwork are constantly tested and I believe I have made great improvements since starting.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The support has been excellent - not only was the training provided by the previous intern fantastic, but everyone in the team and in the wider organization have been extremally helpful.
I have never hesitated to ask for help from someone as there is such a positive culture within the company when it comes to supporting others!
