Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role is as an analyst. Often this requires communication with both policy teams and external stakeholders in order to deliver my analysis as well as the policy itself. We use a lot of excel in order to analyse patterns in data. We’re also required to give plenty of presentations where we translate technical analysis into easy to follow language.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given plenty of responsibility being placed as a lead analyst for a number of projects meaning I was often the first port of call whenever analysis was needed or questions were raised on projects under my scope. I also worked on large fiscal events such as the spring budget

Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Department for Work and Pensions
Get involved as much as you can and don’t be afraid to initiate things with colleagues.
