Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
On a day-to-day basis, the role involved conducting independent quantitative research, having regular meetings with mentors to discuss progress, participating in career development workshops, and attending regular lecture series on interesting topics in finance and other relevant technical fields. The daily structure of the independent research was primarily self-driven. There was also plenty of time to take advantage of the company cafe and enjoy catered lunch.

I gained in-depth exposure to working with and analyzing data in financial markets as well as familiarity with the statistics and machine learning methods typically used in the industry.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company has a very collaborative and academic feel, especially within teams. However, there is a little to no interaction across teams, at least during the internship.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I definitely enjoyed my internship. It gave me invaluable exposure to the quantitative finance industry and confirmed my interest in a similar full time career opportunity.
