Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The internship at DLA Piper was incredible. We got an opportunity to network with the cohort in all offices and we have received constant support from Early Careers and our line managers in our respective seats. I have undertook litigation and corporate as my mini seats. We were given clear objectives for each week and our supervisors made sure that our tasks were tailored in a way that allows us to learn and give us a realistic insight in each department.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a very positive experience seeing that DLA Piper as a business use their training on a day to day basis. The company's values are taken very seriously and are practiced by everyone in the firm regardless of the position held.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Due to having 5 objectives per seat I was given an opportunity to develop many skills which includes drafting documents, drafting meeting minutes, attending court including summarising a live hearing and understanding how certain law affects clients in a business setting. I further developed my networking skills and have gained an insight on how International firms operate on a day to day basis.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company is based on team work, inclusivity and support therefore, I always felt very comfortable with the tasks given to me. I was provided with a large support network and could rely on my supervisors and colleagues if anything was needed. The firm also made sure that Interns were included in all networking and social events.
