Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Very ad hoc, fast -paced and dynamic. I mostly communicated launches to retailers and acted as a key contact for them whilst assisting others in the wider team on their projects.
My day-to-day was never the same- a really wide range of tasks.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Huge amounts, I managed whole processes, was responsible for complete projects, managed accounts, championed BFCM activity for the brand, presented to retailers, and much more.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
A reasonable amount, the team were very stretched so we were always busy, understandably there wasn't a lot of time to always have holding hand but when needed my manager was very supportive.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very reactive, fast-paced and at times quite stressful but the work was all online and I am told the in-office culture is more relaxed. It's a young company to work in and managers are usually in late 20s so assume the office must be good fun.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
If you want to gain realistic experience this is great, not always enjoyable but it's on you to adapt your role if you are wanting to, seek opportunities etc. So by the end, I think it was relatively enjoyable but it's more the experience gained. If I got onto the grad scheme I see the structure and Opportunities as a much more exciting role.

What advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal
Do excel training! Be prepared to be given lots of responsibility, know your capacity and when to request extensions or push back if really needed.
This is not a dossy job, you will get great opportunities but you really need to be ready to commit to upskilling and working hard.
Be aware there is a very competitive process at the end of the placement to secure a grad role (very few places).
