Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The program included workshops, lectures and presentations, networking opportunities, and other activities including an E-bike tour. Each day started with a breakfast buffet and ended with a nice dinner together with the other participants (including quants). This was a very nice opportunity to interact with other attendees.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Extremely valuable and insightful. The program was optimized to give the attendees many perspectives on what problems G-research works on and the roles available. Attending the Insights week also gave you an opportunity to talk to Quants who work in different teams. This was a great opportunity to learn about what challenges the different teams work on, and which skills they seek.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes! I did learn some perspectives on quantitative investment strategies, as well as some hands-on NLP.
However, what I value the most is what I learned about G-research, their business model, culture, and what they value in candidates for future Quant positions

Company Culture

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I got a great impression of the company's culture. They expect a lot from their employees and they are very selective in their recruitment. But at the same time, they prioritize a reasonable work-life balance for all employees, which I reckon is unique in this industry.
