Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

We spent a lot of the time listening to presentations from different employees of the firm, from Trainees to Partners. As well as this, we had allocated time to work on a group project that we had to present on the Friday.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

We were not given much responsibility during the internship besides ensuring that we were on the meetings on time. I believe that this was because we did not have access to DLA technology and therefore, they could not give us masses of actual work for confidentiality and security reasons.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have definitely picked up great teamworking and communication skills through conversation with everyone - and learnt how to conduct myself in front of senior management of the firm.
It has also assisted me in becoming more punctual and organised throughout the week.

A lot! The graduate recruitment team were so responsive to any emails or queries that we had, and I felt constantly supported throughout the internship.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone I spoke to was so friendly and genuinely supportive! The culture and company values, which include being supportive, bold, collaborative, and exceptional, truly resonated throughout the whole week.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I truly enjoyed my placement. I wish that there was more opportunities to interact with one another - but the firm really done well with what they had, particularly with it being online.
