Commercial Risk Intern Review

My role as an intern was to learn as much as I can about the firm and the business.
A day-to-day involves following up on emails, networking with other interns and colleagues to develop my experience within the firm.
I was working on projects like creating and delivering presentations, and opening myself up to new experiences to continue to build my network.

I was given several responsibilities throughout my internship- more so the responsibility for myself to continue develop my skills and taking a proactive approach in this.
I couldn't work with clients as much as I would have preferred but it is understandable given the sensitivity of information.

I have developed my networking skills greatly, by throwing myself into different scenarios. I have also worked on my communication skills, creating and delivering presentations with confidence and being able to take on feedback to continually improve.
I have developed my learning abilities- having consumed so much information throughout my internship and absorbing this information.
I have also learnt more about how business works and the integrity and skills required to thrive in business.

I received great support and guidance. Any colleague I approached was happy to help, and Aon's internal training systems were also very useful throughout my internship.

The company culture is that of being united, committed and passionate. This atmosphere is felt throughout the firm and colleagues attempt to embody this daily. My colleagues all work with integrity and I felt the same when I was working.

I enjoyed my internship greatly. It was a great experience and needed to reinforce my career path in insurance. It was valuable in developing my network and I greatly enjoyed the work I was given and the people that I met.
