Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

We attended interactive workshops on technical topics like financial markets, coding, and machine learning, as well as talks by G-Research employees covering NLP and life at G-Research. There were also fun networking dinners and social events to get to know the other participants, such as mountain biking, cooking classes, and a cruise.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I learned a lot about the kind of work they do! G-Research did a great job of showcasing these through a variety of session styles, from personal chats to large group talks.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

For technical skills, we built a Transformer model from scratch in the ML workshop and practiced coding and market-making skills in other exercises. We also developed networking skills from talking to G-Research employees and participants, who all had such interesting backgrounds and research interests.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture seemed extremely open and entrepreneurial. Everyone seemed like an expert in their field and shared interesting insights into their work.
