Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Depending on the work I've been assigned for the particular audit I am working on:
I would normally do minute reviews, agree cashflow statements with the trial balances and check annual report of the client for consistency with their financial statement.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

At first I was expecting to only be given admin work but from the jump I was assigned to an audit client and given real tasks that will count towards the audit.

I've developed my excel skills such as using data snipper and how to create pivoted tables. I've had the opportunity to improve my communication and public speaking skills by engaging in network activities.

There was always support available, all my team members were more than open to help me and reached out to check how I am getting on with a task.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

All employees are very friendly and colleagues in senior roles such as Partners are always available to talk and help. I believe that Mazars' flat hierarchy makes the work atmosphere less tensed.
