Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
ABI has given me an insight into insurance; it has shown me that working in a purpose-driven firm is crucial for ensuring an inclusive, friendly and effective workplace culture.
They make genuine effort to engage with interns and personally support them throughout by providing mentors and regular catch-ups.
Every day was about meeting new people and networking. There was also opportunity to attend at least one workshop/training session everyday for career/personal development

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
ABI are keen to support the long-term development of staff. I attended a workshop supported by three mentors, who were genuinely interested in helping me work towards my career ambitions. Through this and thorough introductions into insurance, I am now interested in a long-term career at ABI.
I had a personal meeting with a staff member from HR to discuss potential roles available and how to prepare for applying for this.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is the most supportive and friendly environment I have worked in. Everyone goes above and beyond to introduce themselves and make a connection. ABI work as a cohesive unit; they work as one team under one main purpose - to drive change to protect and build a thriving society. Everyone was reassuring in letting us know not many people came into ABI with a pre-existing insurance background, so there no fear of intimidation.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I loved having an insight into insurance and the roles available in this sector through ABI. I have made new friends and connections, who have had a massive and positive impact on my personal development with networking. I have enjoyed coming into the office and absorbing the healthy and human approach to each other.

Go for it! Don't be afraid.
The application process follows a non-biased approach, which makes it free from risk of discrimination. Staff at ABI are friendly and kind. They are not intimidating nor dominating - they allow you to be you. They recruit talent - this is their motive, which is valuable as it means that they do not let any other identity factors affect their recruitment process.
The workplace culture here is amazing and refreshing.
