Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Assisting with projects:
ESG Client Conversations (researching, assessing ESG readiness per client and liaising with other teams to collect information; presenting findings to the team with PowerPoint)
Helping with account work:
Sorting and filtering Excel data; currency conversions
Contact cards:
Creating and sharing PowerPoint decks; liaising with others to include the necessary material
Meetings and networking with people from different areas in the bank
Attending talks and webinars

Yes, I was asked to conduct my own research for the ESG project which would be used directly in the final deck that was presented to the Relationship Directors.
I was also asked to create the presentations for the contact cards and assist with the accounts work on Excel

I was given clear instructions throughout the internship from my line manager, and I would get regular feedback both from her and the rest of the team. My line manager in particular would regularly check in on me to make sure I was on the right track and contributing meaningfully

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Culture is great, people are always willing to go out of their way to help you and they seem genuinely interested in your development. Work camaraderie was always great; light-hearted and everyone got on well.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed it; learnt a lot about the Insurance industry, picked up many new skills and met a lot of interesting and senior people in the bank; made important connections which could be very useful for my future career
