Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, and it could've been increased/decreased as needed. My manager especially was very attentive of my workload and regularly placed me in calls even just to observe.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Extremely friendly, not corporate at all, very relaxed, very autonomous, not hierarchical at all. You could randomly speak to anyone and they were always nice.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Extremely enjoyed it. I wouldn't find this kind of workplace anywhere else, and I think it was insanely lucky to be my first internship, because it can only go down from here, the bar was set so high.

What advice would you give to others applying to Barclays
Just be yourself, the personalities were so varied, as were the cultures and backgrounds. They don't have a "type". Just be competent, personable and kind.
