Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
On a day to day basis I would assist with doing research for M&A decks as well as researching companies. I also received good insight from other team leaders in what their job involved including the DD team. There was also a number of good webinars all interns across the country were invited to which gave lectures on a range of topics from ESG to the future of the profession.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was encouraging to learn about all the roles open to me as an engineer and to see that I wouldn't be limited by my degree. There are lots of interesting roles across the firm to suit all interests.

Coming from a non business background, I have developed my knowledge of the corporate finance sector, learning lots of specific terminology and how the industry operates as a whole. Furthermore I have learnt to use sector specific research tools.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very good with a strong focus on work life balance as well as a good friendly atmosphere. The flat hierarchy was also a plus as seniors members of staff felt accessible all the way up to the partner level.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the insight as it provided a good idea of what goes on in both the professional services industry as a whole but also specifically in the deal team. I felt welcome the whole time and the experience was enjoyable as a whole.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars
Research the company prior to any interviews and learn about their values and culture as that is something I was interviewed regarding. With the interviews don't be stressed, the process is welcoming and just try and practise a bit before you have the call.
