Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight program spanned three days, offering a glimpse of life at Latham & Watkins. The first two days were packed with presentations, networking breakfasts and lunches, and case studies. These sessions covered a wide spectrum of topics, including restructuring & special solutions, banking, DLC, tactical opportunities, M&A/PE, and litigation. On the final day, we attended a presentation on pro bono work and had the opportunity to shadow an associate.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The program not only outlined the tasks performed by trainees in each practice area but also shed light on other crucial aspects, such as business development and career progression. Meeting various employees face-to-face allowed me to grasp the firm's culture, work ethos, and future opportunities. The presentation from the tactical opportunities team, though not a trainee seat, was particularly insightful in understanding Latham's firmwide strategy.
