Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The week involved talks from senior G-Research staff, including the CEO, workshops on pure ML, ML for finance and pure finance, and ample networking over dinner, drinks and at the poolside. The event was held at a beautiful 5* hotel in Nice in the south of France
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Very useful. It has informed my decision to apply for the full summer internship next year and alleviated many of my concerns about working in the finance sector rather than tech.

I learned more about transformer models, how quantitative trading works and what life at G-Research looks like. As well as the social skills that come with 5 days of networking with world class students

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Fantastic, all staff were happy to converse with the students, both answering questions and socialising. They did very well to break down the intimidating nature of such a prestigious opportunity

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to G-Research
Go for it. They have very high salaries and are looking for the best, but don’t be intimidated by that. Especially for the insights week, application is easy so there is very little to lose by trying. You might surprise yourself.
