Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Days usually started with breakfast at 8:30. Following breakfast and the arrival of students and speakers, I attended talks with a few breaks in between and some networking events. On day 3, where students gained insights into their chosen division, there were Trading, Investment Banking and Risk Management simulations.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was exciting, surprising and helpful to understand Bank of America and its available roles. It was fascinating listening to stories of business representatives at the bank sharing about their journey as well as their expertise in their role and also the financial industry. After gaining knowledge about the available roles, I felt excited about the opportunities the bank gives their junior talents to develop to the best of their skills and abilities.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed significantly both personally and professionally after attending Bank of America's spring insight week. I had the opportunity to develop my knowledge about the financial industry, and learnt successful skills for a successful analyst such as being proactive and intellectually curious. I have also had the opportunity to learn how to network better by demostrating warmth and show great listening skills. Throughout the week, I have developed my communication as well as teamwork skills significantly with a team task on day 4.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Bank of America is well-known for its inclusive and welcoming environment. Everyone at the bank is helpful and welcoming towards the spring interns which shows how the bank appreciates their employees' backgrounds, thoughts, and experiences. You will always see a smile on everyone's face at the bank and their willingness to help. In conclusion, the general atmosphere at the bank is very welcoming and inclusive.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I was greatly grateful for the insight opportunity provided to me. I was provided with accommodation that was close to the bank's office and breakfast as well as networking events and simulations where I had the opportunity to understand better the financial industry as well as the roles. I met leading business representatives of the bank and learnt from their journey and expertise. I met some of the most amazing talents who were also spring interns like me and learnt about their journey and made life-long friends.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bank of America
An advice I would give to others applying to Bank of America is to be yourself and show your competence as well as warmth and inclusivity since the bank really appreciates candidates who are team players, respectful and welcoming. Sticking to the bank's values, strategies, missions and culture is of paramount importance. Researching different roles within the bank and how it makes money and also understanding how the financial industry works are also crucial.
