Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I get involved with helping update automated responses for our clients which entails contacting loads of different areas of the business. I am also learning about the MAR and FCA and hopefully will learn how to review presentation packs before i leave my internship.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, i was given my own projects, as well as having a chance to try the work that my team does on a day to day basis. This allowed me to get a good overview of the department and i really enjoyed it.

I have developed my communication skills from talking with loads of different people from different areas of the business. I have also learnt new systems and how to ask for help when i don’t understand something which is sometimes hard to do when you are new as an intern.

Lovely place to work, everyone is so friendly and willing to spare you half an hour to talk about what they do so that you can learn a lot about other areas of the company.

What advice would you give to others applying to abrdn
Don’t be scared of the group interview! It was actually very fun activity and as long as you are contributing it doesn’t hold as much weight as your presentation that you do - just don’t interrupt people when they try to speak!
