Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The minute I began my internship I was thrusted into the middle of a really big project. Whilst this meant at the start it was perhaps a baptism of fire and was very difficult, once I came through this I had gained the trust of my team and was given further responsibilities and trusted with other projects throughout the remainder of my internship. I cannot thank my team enough for this.
I am wary though that this is not the case with every L'Oreal internship, it is completely dependant on what team and what brand you are placed on.
Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
From a behavioural perspective, I have also developed great skills in communication and how to act effectively and properly in an office environment
How would you rate the training provided during your experience?
How would you rate your development of industry-specific skills during the experience?
How would you rate your development of personal / soft skills during the experience?
Please rate how these skills have helped you in your career development
Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
How would you rate the support and guidance from your line manager?
How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?
Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Some brands and divisions have brilliant culture where everyone is supportive and sociable and there is a real team work ethic.
Other brands and divisions have a very fake, two-faced culture where it seems even though people are nice to your face, they do not actually have your back.
However if you are able to network across divisions and make good contacts in different areas of the business then this is not an issue.
How would you rate the inclusiveness of the culture?
How would you rate the social opportunities?
How would you rate the diversity initiatives?
How would you rate the charity, sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives?
Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Once again though I am very aware that your L'Oreal experience is completely dependant on what brand and division you are in so it is a completely different experience for everyone.
