Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Supporting current product issues using the 7 step problem solving process.
This includes liaising with stakeholders and field specialists.
Outlining clear steps to discover the assignable cause of the issue, and developing a solution to fix it. This may include a scene of the crime visit.
Clearly documenting and presenting the 7 steps to be reviewed in a cross functional setting for approval.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

From the start of my placement i felt very welcome and respected in the team.
I was started off with some easy tasks to help me learn the process and once i was more familiar i was given meaningful work and given equal opportunities to an employee who may have been here 10 years.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My team members were very supportive during my placement
My manager held weekly 1:1 sessions with me where I could discuss work or just a general catch up. The first month of my placement I had a 'Buddy' who was able to help train me

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. The company often holds free events such as world happiness day where we got free cake to a summer BBQ.
There are no strict hours so you can come and go as you please provided you do your hours for the week.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I very much enjoyed my placement at Cummins. I feel very lucky to have a team who have backed and supported me the whole time and provided me with lots of opportunities to develop my skills.
