Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Market research using gfk newron to create price point maps, spreadsheets, and presentations for context for product range reviews.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
No. Unfortunately managers didnt include us in team calls and just made us do spreadsheets on spreadsheets that they are most likely not going to use. The rest of the departments in BSH are very good at including their interns in important and relevant work, the company is a good one to work for, unfortunately i just had a rough time.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Different softwares such as gfk newron, SALA and censhare. A lot of multitasking involved due to being an intern for the department as a whole therefore involves cooling, cavity cooking, dish and laundry so a lot of product knowledge is required.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The learning and development team are fantastic and always happy to help, I've had my fair share of mistreatment and unprofessional experiences while here but thankfully i had their support and guidance to help me out of these situations.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Unfortunately there was a lot of tension within my team and poor treatment of the interns, although this has significantly improved now it is under new management - the rest of the company is lovely and happy to help with any questions and other departments were happy to include us in their events. Again BSH as a whole is a lovely company to work for.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Unfortunately, I had to deal with unprofessional treatment by my direct team but the company as a whole was very supportive. There is a whole community of interns with interns in every department, I had 13 other placement interns and there was also a whole community of graduate interns so a lot of support available. They also have intern housing which was lovely to be able to live with others experiencing a similar environment.

What advice would you give to others applying to BSH
The company as a whole is very supportive and there are opportunities to spend time in different departments and go to events across the country. As a whole BSH is a great company even if i had a bad experience in my team, the rest of the company and other departments have been incredibly supportive and i feel that speaks volumes (positively) when thinking about general office culture.
