Digital Marketing Intern Review

My role focused on SEO and content production for the 7 direct to consumer Luxe brands. I was responsible for keeping the brands’ websites up to date with fresh content, optimising existing pages they had, conducting keyword research to prepare future content, building SEO performance reports, helping with content ideation and creating metadata for new product launches.

Throughout the year I was given huge responsibility to lead on a number of projects, including a project just one month into my internship and the Black Friday plans for the 7 brands I worked with. From the start I was also involved in analysing the data to produce the monthly SEO report. Additionally, there was numerous opportunities for me to contribute ideas to meetings and develop and pursue these myself.

Through my role I learnt many new technical skills, such as how to build web pages, conduct keyword research and analyse data to produce reports.
I also developed my time management and task management as I was having to work across 7 brands. As well as this my interpersonal skills improved, such as my communication, presentation and confidence within my role.

I received as much support and guidance as I wanted during my internship. My manager and other team members were always more than happy to help and guide me where I needed it, which made it very easy to address any issues I did face and overcome them quickly. Each week I had a 1 to 1 meeting with my manager where I could bring up any issues, which meant I had plenty of support.

The company culture was very energetic and casual, which meant it was a great environment to be around. Everyone's ideas and opinions felt valued within meetings, which was great. Additionally, their were a number of social events regularly, ranging from just our team going out for drinks to parties for the division.

I really enjoyed my placement year! The work I was doing felt important and it was cool to be able to see pages I had built on the websites of the brands. I was given a lot of responsibility very quickly, which helped me develop a lot and learn to work effectively. My team were a lot of fun to be around, which made working alongside them very comfortable. Additionally, I was a fan of the light-hearted culture and loved all the socials! The placement exceeded my expectations in every aspect.
