Motor Vehicle Level 3 Apprenticeship 2026

Please note that this is an apprenticeship position and therefore anyone who holds a level 4 qualification or higher in a similar subject will not be eligible.

What will you be doing?

Working in our dynamic Automotive Importer Workshop, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair activities. You’ll develop strong technical skills by diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and performing routine servicing on our 6 VWG group brands vehicles using industry‑standard tools and diagnostic equipment. Alongside experienced technicians, you’ll be supported as you work towards your required level of qualification and automotive apprenticeship, giving you a recognised qualification and the practical expertise needed to build a successful career in the motor industry.

What do you need?

To be successful in this apprenticeship you'll enjoy hands‑on practical work, have an interest in how vehicles work and enjoy using problem-solving skills.

To be eligible for the apprenticeship, you also need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A-C) including Maths and English and meet the government eligibility criteria, including:

  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • You must meet one of the specified residency criteria.
  • You must not have more than six months professional experience in a similar role or hold a level 4 qualification or above in a related subject.
  • You must not be on another government funded learning programme.

You’ll be working towards your level 3 Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician apprenticeship over 2 years to gain a recognised qualification alongside industry experts. What's the assessment process?

Once you hit the apply button, you will be asked to submit an application form with CV and answer a couple of video interview questions so that we have a chance to get to know a little more about you. Our final step in the journey would be to attend a face-to-face interview where you will take part in a range of activities based on real life tasks. Successful candidates will be offered a place soon after the assessment centre for a September 2026 start.
