This radiation protection apprenticeship gives you hands-on experience and industry-recognised qualifications to start your career in nuclear safety. It’s all part of EDF’s mission to drive the transition towards An Electric Britain.
Your Work Location
You’ll work with Radiological Protection team at Torness Power Station. As this a full time, site-based opportunity in a dynamic, engaging department, you’ll need to live within commuting distance of your base location.
What You’ll Experience
- Radiation monitoring using specialist equipment
- Interpreting measurements and applying them to real-life scenarios
- Practical learning supported by experienced mentors and tutors
- Training in health, safety and quality standards
- Opportunities to work in varied environments, including outdoors and at heights

You’re self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to balance study with work. You’ll have strong attention to detail and a positive attitude towards health, safety and quality.
The Assessment Centre will be delivered in person. Further details, including the date and location, will be confirmed in due course.
