What you’ll be doing

The Quantity Surveying (QS) Team is responsible for delivering commercial support, expertise and knowledge from Contract Award stage through to the conclusion of the Final Account for a portfolio of Distribution and Transmission network engineering and construction projects.

As a QS Graduate Apprentice, you’ll be a key member of the team, playing a vital role assisting in the delivery of fundamental QS activities that will support your studies and develop your experience. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in multiple tasks such as assessing monthly contractor measures (payment applications), commercial evaluations of project variations and contact and tender reviews. You’ll enhance your stakeholder engagement skills during commercial meetings with a wide variety of stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

You’ll do a BSc (Hons) Graduate Apprenticeship Construction and Built Environment (Quantity Surveying) at Glasgow Caledonian University. You’ll have four Highers at grades A-C (or equivalent), with two of those at a minimum of a B. You’ll also have National 5 in English and Maths (or equivalent). We’re taking a hybrid approach to working with your time split between university, home and the office.

For this programme, you’ll also need a driving licence (or be working towards it) as you’ll need to get to different sites both during and after your training period.
