About The Role

Join our Customer Network Development (CND) team at National Grid, where we’re focused on connecting new and existing generation and demand customers to the energy network. As an Industrial Placement – Customer Data Analyst. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in shaping data governance strategies and supporting compliance with regulatory standards. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the responsible use and management of data across its lifecycle, helping us maintain integrity and trust in everything we do.

CND is responsible for creating connection offers that include contractual and technical requirements, identifying suitable technical designs, and managing the delivery of these connections. You’ll work closely with customers and industry partners, ensuring compliance with codes and frameworks while helping improve processes to reduce lead times and enhance customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support Data Governance Initiatives: Assist in developing and implementing data management policies and frameworks that align with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain Data Quality and Compliance: Help conduct data quality checks and internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Manage Data Processes: Contribute to creating and improving processes for accessing, validating, and integrating external data sources.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams to promote best practices in data governance and build strong working relationships.
  • Provide Training and Guidance: Support the delivery of training sessions on data governance policies, fostering a culture of ethical and responsible data use.

Our Industrial Placement

Our 12-month Industrial Placement offers you the opportunity to kickstart your career within the energy sector and discover your unique superpower. Throughout your placement, you’ll receive a tailored development programme designed to support your growth and development. This includes a combination of in-person and virtual training sessions led by our development team, as well as access to a range digital learning tools to help further enhance your skills.

Throughout your placement you’ll have opportunity to make connections amongst your cohort as well as regular check ins with a mentor and our Early Careers Team. Day-to-day, your placement manager will provide you access to a variety of on-the-job opportunities where you’ll take on real assignments and projects to make a genuine impact within your respective function. By the end of your placement, you’ll have developed your understanding of our business and the energy sector for your future career.

What you'll need to apply

  • You'll need to be in your penultimate year at University, on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 in Data Science, Information Technology, Business administration, Psychology, or a Marketing degree with a significant module in data analysis.
  • You'll need to commit to completing a 12-month Industrial Placement that will begin June 2026 and be eager to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting.
  • You'll need flexibility to travel within role and throughout your placement as required.

Location

This role is based in Warwick and may offer flexible hybrid working, where possible.
