Business Management Degree Apprenticeship

Interested in a Business Management career focused on data and technology?

This 4-year Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship offers a full degree, real-world experience, and the opportunity to develop essential business skills in areas such as strategic planning, asset management, and performance analytics.

About the programme

This apprenticeship is based in the Performance Department at HM Naval Base Clyde. The team oversees a broad range of responsibilities, including maintenance planning, asset management, space planning, data analytics, and contract reporting.

The diverse scope of work allows you to experience various rotations, from supporting operational output to contributing to transformation initiatives. You will play an active role in projects such as key performance management and improvement, enhancing the use of technology, process review and change, as well as site utilisation and resourcing strategies.

You’ll collaborate with a wide range of colleagues, as well as both internal and external stakeholders, providing valuable networking opportunities throughout your apprenticeship.

Your education/training

As part of your apprenticeship, you will pursue a degree at Strathclyde University, affiliated with the Chartered Management Institute. Throughout the programme, you will be supported in becoming a Chartered Manager, further strengthening your professional qualifications and advancing your career prospects.

On-the-job training will equip you with the skills to analyse and present performance data while giving you the confidence to develop and deliver business strategies. You will gain valuable knowledge in areas such as data analysis, improvement techniques (e.g., DMAIC), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, reporting, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Throughout the programme, you’ll develop both technical and soft skills, including data reporting, stakeholder presentations, team collaboration, and driving business change.

Future prospects

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, a range of opportunities will be available to you within the department and across the wider business. Long-term prospects include progression into senior specialist roles or management positions.
