Note: While you’ll start in a specific team, client-facing roles naturally evolve over time, offering the chance to work with different clients, teams and sectors across Mace Consult as projects and priorities change.

What you’ll do

In Digital Consultancy, you will be collaborating in client-facing, fee-earning projects responsible for putting in place the Digital and Data outputs required to support Programme Management Office (PMO) Team activities, typically (but not exclusively) related to Power BI (Business Intelligence) reporting. You will also support senior colleagues with reporting, data analytics, process automation, and data capture. This role works alongside the Senior Developer in support of projects, learning the Mace way of BI development.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Gaining exposure to working with data, understanding the different ways it can be structured and starting to form an appreciation of good data practices.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to optimise data source stability & providing support.
  • Liaising with subject matter experts with the support of senior developer(s) to understand the requirements gathering process.
  • Contributing to developing visually effective Reporting outputs that promote data-driven decision-making where required.
  • Participating in the Digital Centre of Excellence community by sharing knowledge and attending training & upskilling.
  • Continuing to study, utilising knowledge and learning skills in your chosen area of expertise, increasing technical competence.
  • Developing working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Working with team members providing a range of operational delivery & support for team for business/portfolio area.

You will also work towards gaining professional membership of a professional association relevant to your role such as the Association of Project Management (APM) fully funded and supported by us.

About you

  • A future or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a digital-related subject, such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or above (or equivalent qualifications)

Given the nature of our work, flexibility is key. Our projects and clients are based in various locations, so you should be prepared to travel frequently to different project sites or Mace Consult offices. A positive and adaptable approach to travel is therefore essential, as it may be a regular part of your role. To support this, Mace Consult offers travel expense reimbursements for business travel, including mileage, public transport fares, and, where necessary, accommodation.
