Geotechnical Engineer Graduate 2026 - Peterborough

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).

The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.

You will be given support and guidance from experienced engineers and learn to be an expert in your discipline. You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with other disciplines to develop and detail appropriate solutions, adopting the principles of excellence in design adopted by the SPA Alliance engineering team.

You will be offered opportunities to gain the experience in your chosen area such as site experience, geotechnical design, commercial exposure, and access to digital tools to improve the quality of engineering design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specific design of water infrastructure that achieves the goals of Anglian Water in terms of customer, environment and efficiency.
  • Undertake desk studies, ground investigations, geotechnical designs and site supervision
  • Ensure that the principles of design safety are incorporated in all designs
  • Work with the relevant lead team members to ensure that all technical deliverables are properly checked and approved.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to innovation initiatives.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Health & Safety (H&S), ensuring consistent H&S standards are maintained.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and delivery.
  • A willingness to contribute to team leadership and coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
