What is Travelport?

Our internships are designed for students pursuing a placement year during the third year of their undergraduate studies.

Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings. Plane, car or hotel. You name it, we do it. Our technology is used to book that magical family holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. While we can't solve mosquito bites or lost luggage, we can simplify a lot of the technical parts of travel, and we're looking for the best thinkers to help us do it.

Our internships are designed for students pursuing a placement year during the third year of their undergraduate studies. At Travelport, we offer driven and ambitious individuals like you the chance to take part in a truly immersive and impactful experience- where your skills are put to work on meaningful projects that make a real difference!

Annually, we run a 13-month (July – July) internship program comprised of four pillars:

• The Job - You’ll get the opportunity to dive into the day-to-day world of your role and assist your team in many projects. Also, you will have the opportunity to shadow various departments, allowing you to gain valuable insights and determine the career you may want to pursue in the future.
• Corporate Social Responsibility – You’ll have the opportunity to give back to the community by fundraising and volunteering for both local and global charities alongside your fellow interns.
• Learning and Development – You’ll receive training sessions designed to support your personal and professional development while also equipping you with industry specific skills.
• ‘Intern’preneurship’ (see what we did there?) – You’ll have the opportunity to develop solutions to real business problems which Travelport has and present your ideas to the Senior leadership team and/or external companies.

The Technology Internship:

13 months, full-time, office based, July 2026 – July 2027

You will sit within the Cyber Security Architecture team role and support the design, evaluation and documentation of cloud architectures and secure enterprise. This hands-on role is all about gaining experience in problem-solving and finding real-world solutions, working cross-departmentally with senior members of the team. To do this, live systems from API gateways to cloud workloads are used to ensure smooth and secure running of the company.

Responsibilities include:

• Support senior architects in evaluating new and existing solutions, by using security standards.
• Look for potential security gaps.
• Help maintain documentation within the Architecture department in Confluence, Jira or other internal storage.
• Research into threats, trends and frameworks to aid the team.

Who we are looking for in this role:

• Studying Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related technology field.
• Basic understanding of cloud concepts (preferably AWS).
• Familiar with security fundamentals- encryption, IAM, networking.
• Some experience with scripting (Python, Java Script).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
