"Electricity is such a vital component in everyone’s lives. It powers schools, businesses and hospitals, so I knew that if I did my placement within EDF then I would have a really large impact on society, and that made my placement a lot more fulfilling.” Priyanka, Science and Engineering Industrial Placement.

The Opportunity

This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £24,500 and the chance to work at both Sizewell B Power Station and Gloucester Business Park.

The Sizewell B Joint Technical Centre holds a key role in supporting the company ambition to extend the life of Sizewell B Power Station by 20 years, providing low carbon generation until 2055. Taking on a real job at a junior level, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience while being mentored by highly skilled professionals.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to real-world projects that impact performance, safety, and efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

During your Joint Technical Centre Industrial Placement, you will play a key role in supporting the work to extend the life of Sizewell B, focussing on one of the key programmes of Structural Integrity, Control & Instrumentation, Equipment Qualification or Ageing and Obsolescence.

You will gain valuable exposure to large programmes of technical work, understanding the lifecycle of technical work from planning through to delivery of safety justifications, and the importance of stakeholder engagement, risk management, and compliance activities.

Your Work Location

You will be based in Gloucester Business Park with the Joint Technical Centre.
