Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Graduate

What You’ll Be Doing
- Patrolling your assigned area on foot, bike or in a vehicle
- Building positive relationships with the public, schools, businesses and local organisations
- Responding to concerns such as anti-social behaviour, minor offences and community disputes
- Gathering and sharing useful intelligence with police teams
- Supporting crime prevention initiatives and safety campaigns
- Offering reassurance to victims and vulnerable individuals
- Helping improve trust and confidence in the police by being approachable and community-focused
Training & Development
- Full initial training to prepare you for the role
- Learn communication skills, police procedures, community safety, and personal safety techniques
- Ongoing development, support and learning on the job
- Opportunities for career progression within the wider police force
Pay & Benefits
- Starting salary: £26,106 to £28,653 per year
- Additional earnings: You could earn around £4,800 extra per year depending on your shift pattern (includes weekend and unsocial hours enhancements)
- Annual leave: 24 days per year (plus bank holidays), increasing with service

What You’ll Need
- Minimum qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (Level 2)
- OR relevant experience that shows you have those basic skills
- IT literacy: Able to use basic programs like Word, Excel and email
- Work pattern flexibility: Willing and able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Right to work in the UK and ability to pass police vetting checks
It’s Helpful (But Not Essential) If You Have:
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience in a customer-facing or community-based role (e.g. volunteering, youth work, retail, etc.)
- Interest in public service, community safety, or problem solving

- A strong communicator — both listening and speaking
- Calm and professional under pressure
- Someone who enjoys being outdoors, working with the public, and building local relationships
- Responsible, trustworthy, and good at working independently or as part of a team
