What does the role look like?

Our Manufacturing Engineering Graduate Programme is designed for ambitious graduates who are passionate about solving complex challenges and redefining aerospace. Over three years, you'll gain hands-on experience across a range of manufacturing functions, building the skills and knowledge to become one of Safran's next generation of engineers and technical leaders.

Based in Wolverhampton, you'll rotate across key areas such as New Product Introduction, New Technology, Continuous Improvement, Operational Support, and Project Management, gaining a broad understanding of how products move from design through to full-scale production.You'll learn to identify and implement process improvements, apply innovative technologies, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.This programme will enable you to work on live projects that directly impact aerospace production, while developing your leadership, technical, and problem-solving capabilities in a supportive environment.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) by translating concept designs into robust manufacturing processes.
  • Implementing new technology and automation solutions within existing manufacturing systems.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise quality.
  • Providing operational support to ensure monthly production and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Contributing ideas for innovation and process development to help shape the future of our manufacturing capability.

Job Requirements

What will you bring to the role?

Essential skills:

  • A minimum 2:1 degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • A focus on sustainability and engineering excellence.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong personal organisation and self-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with 2D drafting or 3D modelling software.
  • Exposure to 3D printing or additive manufacturing.
  • Practical hobbies or projects demonstrating engineering curiosity.
  • Work experience, placements, or volunteering that show proactive engagement with the profession.

Recruitment Process & Timeline

We believe in making our recruitment process transparent and rewarding:

  • Application – Apply online with your CV.
  • Quick Personality & Motivational Assessment (October 2025) – A 10–15 minute mobile questionnaire using a simple swipe-right/left style. You'll also receive your own personalised feedback report to use however you wish.
  • HireVue Video Interview (October–November 2025) – Record responses to three short questions (max 5 minutes each). Hiring teams will review these and select candidates for the next stage.
  • Assessment Centre – Onsite in Wolverhampton (December 2025) – Includes an interview, presentation, and group tasks. You'll also meet the hiring team and gain a deeper understanding of the role and expectations.
  • Final Decision (January 2026) – Offers will be made by this date at the latest.
